Colour Blindness

Not everyone has normal colour vision. This is due to the defect present at birth in the cells of the light-sensitive retina. The defect is more common in men than in women. The main colours which are hard to distinguish are red and green.

There is no treatment for colour blindness and it is advisable to check with the optometrist; as some jobs require normal colour vision, like becoming a pilot, a driver or electrician.
