What are Contact Lenses?
Contact lenses are alternatives to wearing glasses. They are either soft, hard or gas permeable and come in daily, monthly disposables or extended wear and may be recommended depending on which is suitable for you.
Contact lenses have an advantage that you can always look through the centre of the lens, this overcomes distortion effects compared to spectacles lenses and also improves the appearance for people who don't like to wear spectacles.
Also it is an advantage for those who can use them for certain activities like sports, TV news reporters etc,
Because contact lenses are worn on the cornea of the eye so they must be sterelised to avoid infection. This can be done by using sterelising solutions. When you are not wearing your lenses, keep them in the container so that they stay clean and you don't loose them.
Contact lenses may be clear or coloured ones. They are fast becoming popular among the younger people.
