Progressive Lenses

In the past patients had the option of either having single vision spectacles for close work or bifocals (distance and near - with a small segment for reading).
As for now, a new type of lens is introduced known as progressive lens.

Progressive lenses are bifocals without lines and they have three areas of viewing - distance, intermediate and reading. But the dividing lines are not visible.

This lenses have many advantages over bifocals, they give an extra range of intermediate distance (the in-between distance between far and near) and also improve the appearance.
Over the years there have been different designs of progressive lenses available in glass as well as plastic, which the optician can advice the patients.

Adaptation
There is a short adaptation period when you are fitted with your first pair of progressive lenses, which can take a few days.
